We are looking for volunteers who can engage with young people, aged 13 – 19, who need assistance with a range of life skills.
Are you adaptable, flexible and most of all a good communicator. Are you able to simply listen?
We are looking for volunteers who are keen to inspire the next generation, but at the same time talk about the realities of life? The role can involve:
- Mentoring a young person
- Coaching them in job hunting skills, developing their life skills
- Motivating a young person who has faced a number of challenges
- Helping them get to important meetings
- Boosting their confidence
There are opportunities across Cornwall and Devon. Ideally you will be able to commit a similar amount of time each week to support a young person. We will provide full training and ongoing supervision to support you in your role.
A full enhanced DBS check will be required as you will be interacting on a one-to-one basis with vulnerable adults and children – we will complete this for you and it is free. You will also be required to provide two referees (cannot be related to you).
For an informal conversation about the role please contact Sue Hunter by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
